Cover written for your kind of loss

An online retailer loses money in the returns stream. An LTL carrier loses it to a bolt cutter at a truck stop. Each Skjoldmark program starts from the losses your sector takes, then prices them.

Every sector breaks in its own place

Electronics disappear one carton at a time from a pallet that arrives with the wrap intact. A frozen load fails when the reefer cycles off in a border queue. A parcel is stolen from a porch after the delivery scan. A forwarder gets a claim for goods that were never on its own truck. Since 2011 we have written cover around those specifics: the commodity, the carriers you use, the lanes, and the paperwork each trade demands.

Programs by sector

Six programs, one wording

Three depot staff in grey and blue uniforms loading parcels into a van outside a glass-fronted depot

E-commerce & returns

Outbound parcels, peak-season surges, marketplace orders and the returns leg nobody insures. Protection attaches at checkout and pays on retail value. It also covers the return box that arrives resealed and empty.

Two warehouse workers wrapping a pallet of boxed goods in stretch film

Electronics & high-value goods

Handsets, GPUs, lab equipment and medical devices are stolen by the pallet and by the carton. Per-pallet limits and sealed-trailer conditions, with full theft cover written by underwriters who know what a case of phones sells for.

Truck driver inspecting his tractor unit at a depot in the early morning

LTL & trucking

Motor truck cargo and shipper’s-interest cover for LTL, where one trailer carries twenty shippers’ goods and a night at a truck stop can empty it. Theft from a parked trailer is written in as a covered event, and we pay before any argument with the carrier begins.

Fulfilment staff sorting parcels on a conveyor belt

3PLs & freight forwarders

Goods in your care, custody, or control are your exposure. Legal-liability and cargo cover behind the terms you sign, so a mis-sort, a cross-dock drop, a customs hold or a misdelivered pallet does not end up on your own balance sheet.

Courier handing a parcel to a shop owner on a Seattle city street beside a delivery van

Importers & cross-border trade

Ocean, air, inland and final-mile legs on 110+ trade lanes, worded to your Incoterms and letter-of-credit conditions. Full invoice value insured from the origin factory to the store door, well above the carrier’s per-kilo limit.

Drivers carrying parcels to their vans in a dispatch yard in the morning

Food & cold chain

Chilled and frozen loads that fail when the set point drifts in a border queue or a reefer cycles off on a Sunday. Temperature-deviation cover, paid on the data logger reading.

Under every program

The same shield under all six

Cover that stays on the goods

Parcel, LTL, full truckload, air, or ocean. The program stays put when you switch carriers, change 3PLs, add a lane or move a DC.

Limits from your manifests

Per-shipment limits, annual aggregates, deductibles and peak-week uplifts, set from your own shipment data instead of a rate card.

94% of claims closed in 30 days

A named handler, a short document list, an inspector who sees the goods, and salvage priced the same week. Ninety-four percent of claims settle within 30 days.

Tell us what you ship and how it fails

Send your commodities, lanes, carriers, and annual volume. An underwriter who writes your sector every week replies with a program and a price.
